    Director or Investor permit

Interested in purchasing or investing in a business in Aruba?

Purchasing a business is one of the most significant investments you will make in a lifetime.
All businesses in Aruba are required to register at the Aruba Chamber of Commerce within one week after their commercial activities have started.
Every business must have a business license before initiating their activities. The only exemption from the business license requirement is a sole proprietorship or a general partnership consisting of Aruba-born adults with Dutch nationality. In all other cases, a business license is required before starting operations.
The business license is issued by the Department of Economic Affairs after the Aruba Chamber of Commerce has given its opinion. The Chamber will give a positive or negative recommendation to the Minister for granting a business license for a corporation, of which at least 60% of the shares are owned by locals.
For more information on the business establishment license, consult the Department of Economic Affairs website at  www.arubaeconomicaffairs.aw.

    Director’s License

In addition to a business license, company directors not born in Aruba but are of Dutch nationality should apply for a director’s license at the Department of Economic Affairs.
Once all the official documents are in place, ASBA can help you obtain the necessary permit by representing you at the official government agencies in Aruba.
